Happy to be, With me on the 4th of July

As many of you know, I enjoy holidays.  I especially love the 4th of July.  I believe I already mentioned that this is going to be my block party holiday but since I currently reside in an apartment and can't throw much of an outdoor party, we had to go to one this year and it was FANTASTIC!  On July 3rd the city of Denver put on a great event in the Civic Center (the park between the courthouse and the capitol).  They had the symphony play songs to start and then had a fireworks display and thanks to Damion and Meg, we had VIP seats.  We were about four rows back from the mayor (who's running for governor soon) and weren't on the wet grass!  We road the bus down so here I am in the awesome shelter with the ominous clouds behind me showing off the headband I crafted.  Those rolled through Denver but broke right before everything started!

B and I ready for the bus to come!

Super vibrant clouds and "spotlight" on the Capitol when the rain broke

During the symphony performance.  They lit the building at the end to go with the 1812 Overture.  The instruments/musicians are in the little lit bubble in front. At this point everyone is throughly pleased with the show and could just go home but wait...

They begin shooting fireworks off the building!!  That's the state and county courthouse mind you.  I guess they REALLY trusted the pyro engineers!

Imagine the clapping at this point when they, much to my delight, then also light the building.  Fireworks, lightshow, too much... oh my!!!

Then they COMBO BOTH and I fall out of my chair.  Not really but I was close!  It was one of the coolest shows I have ever seen.  So cool with the live music playing too!

The building changed colors with different songs... gasp!!!

And after a rousing finale, everyone left saying that we MUST come to this every year!  It was a fantastic show!
