An answer to why the water looked that way...

Last night Luke (grew up in Durango, CO) told us the reason the water looks like that is from the oxygen in the pipes. If you let it run for a few minutes it will clear up. It is actually just tiny bubbles in the water that have to settle/pop. Looks like we aren't getting poisoned by Mattie in hopes we would be weak enough to just let him have the whole giant 20lb bag of kibbles.
